Channel 9 goes to Hollywood, stop the madness

...Channel 9's theme is not about art, not about the looks... it was an order... I'm telling you... someone gave an order to do this and you all eat it lock, stock and barrel without giving it a thought.

I miss the old "original" Channel 9 theme... I'm sure deep down inside, you do too.

Since when is navy blue considered teal?

What I tried to do was mock you for freaking out about a f*cking color scheme.  Next time I won't be so subtle.

I think what you're missing about that blog post is that the complaint is about using unnatural complementary colors on real life scenes (ie: orange skin and teal skies). If orange and teal didn't look good together in the abstract, they wouldn't be coloring live action movies that way.

So get back to us when they start doing it to Ping episodes or something.

Speaking of UI themes. I'm now getting a bit visually tired of Windows 7's look now. Grey and blue really don't go well together, grey and cyan even less. I don't know why they think it's a good idea to give widgets cyan highlights...

Portions of glass are fine, and I'm comfortable with Office 2010's Blue or White looks (but not black, blegh), however the way Windows 7 renders dialogs and normal applications is just unappealing. My laptop is set to disable Aero Glass when running off my battery, but I've found that only "Slate" doesn't look ugly, and Grey/Blue/Grey/Cyan just doesn't work.

Good news is I'll soon able to look into porting the brilliant and timeless third-party Luna Element theme from XP to Aero, this'll be interesting.

I had to disable Aero ever since I increased my system ram from 6GB to 12GB, because now my computer keeps crashing, whereas before I installed the extra ram, it never, ever, not even once, crashed on me for over a year.

I suspect something to do with one of my graphics cards, as I have two of them
installed, with 3 monitors running, and sometimes a 4th, and before the memory
upgrade, my Aero would constantly switch off if I had an Internet browser
window open, for example. Since the memory upgrade, Windows has not disabled Aero or poped up the message that system resources are low, or something like that. I so far have only crashed when a video has been playing along with some other simultaneous app running, such as Virtual PC, or Internet Explorer, or Movie Maker, and Aero enabled. Since turning Aero off, though its still early days, my computer has not crashed.

Sounds more like bad RAM to me. Have you ran memcheck? It's always a good idea to run it whenever you install new RAM. Actually, Windows 7 comes with that memory diagnostic tool now.

Scary thought: the more RAM you have, the more likely it is you'll have a bit hit by a cosmic ray.
