I read this forum posting on my iPhone. I'm sorry, but what are these "walshied" phones you speak of?

-
Yup Walshed my HD7, and now successfully de-Walshed it to get 3792.
-
I'm still wondering what Walshie was on about when he was saying the first WP7 update was like a totally new OS.
-
Hooray, hooray. I had faith that Chris would come up with a fix before Mango arrived.

As a Verizon customer... I'm still not even able to buy a WP7 device to Walsh.

Yeah I am going to see how long my verizon deal has left, i may switch carriers as i am thinking of the iPhone and the windows phone and verizon does not offer the win7 phones.

@Bas: Maybe whoever was feeding him the rumors confused NoDo with Mango?
Anyway, I Walshed my phone (Dell Venue Pro) a while back, but still got notified of 7382 and applied it without a hitch. I guess like he said it only causes problems on certain phones/scenarios.
-
Confused. I didn't have update problems with my phone. This kind of thing sounds scary to me, I don't like random people tempering with my OS.
-
I didn't 'Walshie' my phone, but have seen no sign of the update. And the "Where's my phone update?" page makes no mention of it at all. So who knows whether or not I'll get it.
Not overly impressed about the level of information being provided on WP7 updates so far.

Which phone you have? I got my NoDo and Security Update basically in the same week on my HTC Surround AT&T.
-
@magicalclick: HTC Mozart on Orange in the UK. I got NoDo ages ago, but no sign of the security update.
-
I haven't Walshed my phone, but still stuck on 7390.

Anyone else in the same situation? -
There's your problem. Lucky it's not a security update or anything ... oh wait a minute.
-
Turns out the fix doesn't appear to work on Samsung Onmia 7 phones. But given that T-Mobile may not have actually released the latest update yet, it's hard to tell. Will wait for v2!

Meh... I don't buy anything from websites using my phone... Just glad I can search for apps now

Samsung Omnia 7 owners rejoice -- Samsung have released a patch tool that fixes reboot issues and allows the 'Walshed' phone fix to work correctly. I have just used it and while it's a bit fiddly (plug phone in while holding camera and volume buttons simultaneously) i worked. Phone now de-Walshed.
