Imo "the shift" hasnt really happened yet and im not at all sure that it will happen in the foreseeable future either..
Apps are more numerous than ever and most of them are written in either in java, .net or object-c, not html+js. I think its always good to look at multiple languages and technologies, but i dont think its wise to throw out all your experience based on a rumor about an os that isnt even at the beta stage 
What i've done lately is looking more at c++ and gpu programming (in the context of directx, im an ms fanboy after all)
