@Ian2: My wife has seen more episodes of Star Trek than I have.
-
@spivonious:That's awesome. My wife kind of gave up some time around Deep Space Nine.
I still may have you though - My wife dressed up as a Vulcan to star alongside me (the Captain naurally) at the MGM Star Trek Experience.

You're not going to see negative stuff in this thread...as in the interwebs you have nothing to hide

Doh! All of this time I thought it was 6 of 9...

My wife is awesome basically for putting up with me and my depression. Also, she's not geeky which stops me from falling too far down that particular rabbit-hole; in a sense she has socialised me so I do acutally leave the house and socialise with people in the real world

@Dr Herbie:Wow, that sounds scary.
The real world?
-
@Ian2: It was at first, but I'm a big boy now and I can deal with it (that's what my wife tells me)

@Dr Herbie: Have you been tested for bipolar disorder? I hear it's not unheard of among creative types.
-
@Harlequin:FYI Here is how your wife might interpret your post:
You're not going to see negative stuff in this thread...
"I have some negative stuff to say but I'm not going to say it here"
as in the interwebs you have nothing to hide ..
"I have something to hide"
She is also likely to question why all the other niners are posting about their fantastic wives and you are not ...
Be careful out there ... (the real world I mean)

Bipolar? I should be so lucky! I'm just a plain depressive, so I get the lows but no highs.

@Ian2: My wife understands the language our children are programmed with, for me it's like trying to understand minified javascript.
That's why she is awesome!
-
@Maddus Mattus: That's funny ... kids work in mysterious ways, that is for sure. And women too for that matter

-
My better half is totally awesome, we are the best of friends... I am much better person since being with her, we got together through friendship as we have so much in common and just didn't see it coming. Oh and she reads a lot too!

Yes my wife is the best thing that ever happened to me, especially since I am so geeky and would otherwise probably be holed up in the house for too long at a time if it wasn't for her. I'll have to make a list:
- We get along extremely well, and we talk about everything.
- She loves power tools. In fact 3/4 of our tools in the garage are hers.
- She loves doing stuff around the house. For instance I got home one day and she single-handedly painted the house (both inside and outside but not on the same day). She also built both fences around our house. I helped of course with the difficult parts (digging out the old concrete posts using a jackhammer) but she loves home projects so much that she wanted to do most of it by herself. It is "her" project, she tells me so it's not that I'm lazy or anything, haha. Also built an outdoor kitchen by herself.
- She is a certified General Electrician (in addition to having a BS in Accounting degree), so now at least I don't have to fix those broken outlets anymore
- Extremely organized, disciplined and a neat freak. Our house is very clean, other than my allowed one pile of unorganized papers, lol. She strictly follows rules like "only ever touch a piece of paper once". Excellent advice for not gathering piles of unfinished paperwork.
- She "gets" men, and often thinks like a man (emotionally and logically). I know it sounds weird but she doesn't do the typical girly type stuff. For instance she often gets upset with other woman because they are "illogical" and doesn't "get" men. She also does guy like things like forget birthdays, hates sending out birthday/Christmas cards, etc. Strange but true. And no, she is absolutely not into woman lol.
- She "gets" scientists. Also weird to describe but she prefers geeky men to mucho types.
- Loves Battlestar Galactica (2003). We are currently going through the full series again.
- Absolutely addicted to Gears of War 3. Moreso even than I am, which is fine with me
- A workout junkie (both cardio and weights - she used to be a personal trainer at some point). Every. Single. Day. No idea where one person can get so much energy from. Which also makes her...
- An absolute Hottie - Toned and Petite.
So yea, if someone were to ask me to describe the perfect woman, I'll just point them to my wife.
-
@BitFlipper: You sure she is female?

LOL, yes I checked

-
@BitFlipper: People of one sex can have the brain patterns of the opposite sex -- so it sounds like your wife has a masculinised brain (e.g. good spatial awareness, ability to concentrate hard on one issue for an extended period). Some men have feminised brains (good at multitasking and communication). The masculine/feminine brain has no bearing on sexuality though.
It always amuses me that feminised brains make for better jet-fighter pilots due to the multitasking required for that job; that didn't seem to feature much in Top Gun, though
