When it is ready.
I think by the time it comes out all of us will have seen the whole game walkthrough on YouTube. I was amazed it wasn't out for Christmas 2011...
Funny, Wikipedia says "Development on Diablo III began in 2001"...this has an air of Duke Nukem Forever to it ![]()
Play DeathSpank instead. Its just like Diablo, but self-aware about how ridiculous it is.

lets hope its better than that complete train wreck meets dumpster fire......
I don't see why Diablo III should be more than 3-4+ years of development. Maybe 5 tops.
Am I off?
@Harlequin: Probeply,.. Otherwise they would be finished by now!

- 6m to 1y for planning.
- I say 1 1/2 to 2 years to build a top of the line engine, that has capabilities to scale down to slower systems
- Then another 1 1/2 to 2 years for polish/content.
Am I off?
Content and the story .... all the artwork and making sure that each quest works fully ... is the quest to hard? to easy ? are there places the player gets "stuck" like walls and doors and so on....
and having quests progress the game to the games storyline.
so i say add in at least another 1 to 3 years for design and testing of all that stuff plus having to revise the engine sometimes to make some of the quests work or re-do the quest to fis the engine.
and do not forget the music and sound effects work also.....
