Sometimes a movie or television show is so bad that it's good.  And that was the case with the original Dr. Who.  The cheap low-budget sets, cheesey effects, laughable villains and bad acting are what gave the show its charm.  It was all so horrible and stupid that it was wonderfully entertaining.

Sadly that ended with Sylvester McCoy in 1989.  Since then, all the "new" Dr. Whos have been too slick and polished and it makes them seem just . . . . silly.
