And if it doesn't change by then it'll be too late to do anything about it.
But sometimes alphas can be decision makers. I remember seeing Civilization 4 alpha screenshots and they looked aweful...of course they did, it was an alpha build. But still it made an impact on my brain and I never did really look forward to buy it. Of course now I play Civ V because I think the first screenshots I saw of that were a nicely completed beta, so that sparked something in my brain that I must have the game =)
It's their choice. Not ours, so don't blame us for the h4t3.
Now they can do two things;
1) Write this stuff down and do something about it
2) Polish and release
If you want to do something about it, then this is probably a better place to have your opinion heard:
Its not the polish. It's the strategy.
And people keep thinking the Metro Touch UI is meant for the desktop
@DeathByVisualStudio: Well the strategy sucks

It's difficult to not think that when you click the start button with a mouse, attached to a desktop computer, and Metro takes over.

Yup.
Unless you are trying Windows 8 on a tablet, you're are wasting our time and yours.
Yes we need to communicate that they need to invest more in the Desktop UI, beacuse swathes of people are just not going to use touch machines as their daily computing paradigm, but this is tablet based innovation, so get and try it on a tablet.
@Minh: That's because it is. Everyone who thinks the Start menu is intended to come back and that Windows 8 will just let you boot to the desktop hasn't been paying proper attention to the messages coming from Build. They are not joking with the phrase "Windows reimagined"
