@Ian2: With past versions of Windows I thought those that purchased a Windows PC in that funky upgrade window prior to a new release got a coupon with that PC to get the upgrade for free. I know $14.99 isn't a lot but it's a step back if memory serves me correctly.

I just build a new PC actually. Will give it a try since I lost my cd key for my Win7 Pro, eekkk. I don't like IE10 because it is still in preview with unstable things. Also GPU acceleration crashs me PC, had to use software rendering.

I literatly had to use my mom's PC (my retired PC) to do important tasks. Can't risk using less stable PC for my task.

Don't know if Win8 is faster or not, I have awesome Crucial SSD . I think I will get Win8, since I am just way too much a MS fanboy even though I dislike Win8.

BTW, any news on Office 2012? These few days throught office really pains me. But, I don't want to buy 2010 when new one is coming out.

Yes, it used to be free, but I think it's always been when you purchase a computer within some timeframe prior to release. It might also have applied to purchases of a retail box of Windows, but that doesn't sound likely, if you think about it.

I don't know the full details yet of the Windows 8 upgrade on pre-release hardware purchases starting June 2 or so, but for the previous offer upgrades, the manufacturer sent you the upgrade disk. My experience with Acer was that it was free, and it had to be a same version upgrade (home to home).

 Has anybody got it working in a Mac yet?

@pavone: Does running it under VirtualBox count? It seems like the RP has been de-tuned for VMs. With my limited experience, the CP seems to perform much better. One thing in specific, the RP goes into fits and nails the CPUs. One thing the RP has, is better networking. I could see that right away.
