Apparently there are already working prototypes of this thing according to NYT.
This is a project of the Google X, a "top secret laboratory" (operating in an "undisclosed location") that has some various high profile computer scientists as employees. Some of Google X's other projects also include developing the driverless car, space elevators, and robot servants (running Android of course).
Very cool. With this tech, someday Google will be able to show you context sensitive ads for *literally* everything you see.

If we all believed in unicorns and fairies the world would be a better place.
What's nice about Google is if Android is a model for this then OEMs will be able to build all sorts of devices -- an not necessarily loaded with Google ads and tracking.
Can't wait for a W8-based device like this. What year will that come out?
