The website says: "In this year's edition there is an extra challenge: create a small but nice, awesome or freaky game component in your frame."
At the moment, I'm the only one who made a game. Let's hope the number of competitors stay low.

Wow, I see the real power of HTML 5 now. Most of the demos I have seen have always been inferior to native apps but that is very nice.
I am not sure what the limitations are that would mean you use WPF, but I presume it is the JavaScript glue that is the only minus for traditional desktop developers

Seriously Microsoft is an international company, don't see why they couldn't do an international competition. Especially when the contest page is in the "international language" English. -

I don't know why there were so few entries but when Channel9 did the summer of 9 contest they also got few entries. My biggest competitor was an application that was a text editor + Media Player + Browser + calculator. (Drag 'n Drop ALL the controls) Needless to say I won an Xbox with Halo 2.
