How do you bring up the Charm/App bar in Consumer Preview with ​mouse/keybo​ard?

I'm remoted into a VM here at work with W8CP on it...and the Windows key on the keyboard takes you to the desptop, and I can't get the charms or the app bar to come out. #confusingUI

Edit: Found that right-clicking brings up the app bar, but still can't get the charms...

I am not sure what charm is, but you will get different thing when you move your mouse to each 4 corners of the screen, no click.

I see. Top left, takes you back an app. Bottom right, charms(search, share, etc), bottom left start screen.

Don't like the "have to learn by playing with it" aspect...consumers don't work that way.

I agree. The only discoverable hot corner is the bottom left, since users are used to going there anyway for the start button.

Can someone let me know why the back button on my mouse (Logitech MX310) doesn't do anything in Windows 8? Shouldn't it go back?

Shortcut keys? I thought Microsoft said "No Compromises", use Touch OR Mouse & Keyboard. Oh wait... I was assuming that they'd make Mouse & Keyboard not suck. My bad.

@DeathByVisualStudio: Shortcut keys are still important when working at a keyboard.  Harlequin's post was in regards to mouse/keyboard use and not touchscreen use.

Guess I'll continue spamming threads with this IMO helpful bit of advice:

 It's actually easier if you don't try to "aim" for the corners and instead just move in the general direction of the corner without thinking. The whole point of putting the hotspots in the corners is that you can overshoot them and still stay at the right place.

Similarly, when using the Metro style apps switcher (on the left edge) or the charms bar (on the right edge) with the mouse, instead of doing it in two discrete motions (move to top/bottom corner, then move down/up), try just swinging your mouse pointer around the corner in one fluid motion. With a bit of practice it becomes a lot faster and actually kinda fun and addictive (or maybe I'm a weirdo). I wish the animation for the charms bar appearing was a little faster though.
