Huzzah!

OK, forgive me but at the start of the year I started to put this Windows 8 app together. It's not a complex app by any means (although there was quite a bit of data to sort out).  Anyway, I went through the whole pre-store rigmarole, two trips down to Reading to get my pre-store ticket etc. and then ... although the app has been finished for a long time now, I had the greatest of difficulty getting it published! (Remember, this is after it passed through the QA process).  Every submission has failed with the vaguest of comments (or no comments at all).

But finally - here it is! 

(And yes, I have fed back to MS in a constructive way that devs need to have a little more information than a reference to a bullet point on the certification requirements document.)

So long story short, If you have a Windows phone then take a look

(and I definitely encourage devs to get their Live Tiles included in the App)

Congrats! However: not in the store for me.

Wow, reading that just makes me glad I decided to skip Microsoft's platform for Android. Just pay Google $25 and you're all set.  

Why did you have to physically go to Reading to get some magical key?  

LOL, just been woken up by my wife phoning from Ireland (it is 7pm over here)  - guess I have been trying to pull one too many all-nighters - You know what they say "In his Autumn before the Winter ...."

Anyway, almost finished my latest App, just got to sort out something for 'squished view' (as my daughter calls it)*

Have been having a blast doing all these apps but will probably have to sort myself out with a 'proper job' soon ....

The Reading thing was a big help - basically I had the attention of one of the software engineers for a couple of afternoons as we both pulled my app to bits.

* Yes, I don't really have the best handle on that whole "design it first" mantra - to be honest I usually find that the function informs the design as I go along (but I know I am in the 'frowned on' minority with that approach).
