On that note why didn't Microsoft lock down all of Windows and say "sorry folks, we don't want to get blamed for other people's bugs and exploitable code".  I think they had the right idea with the measurements and notices provided in IE 9 for plugins. What they are doing in Metro IE 10 is cutting off their nose to spite their face.

EDIT: BTW, When my app breaks, sucks, or does something bad because of something Microsoft did in the API, Windows, etc. do I just move my app off of Windows, .NET, etc. and move to some other OS and/or API? No, I man up and work around the problem without inhibiting my users.
