That's pretty much the same as what I'm doing.

I do hope they tweak the Office 2013 UI some more. Currently it's like the epitome of bland (I already used the blue version in 2010 because I thought the default gray one was bland, and this flat white UI is even worse). There's no visual distinction between anything, everything's gray on white.

@Ian2: Shouldn't be the case. It all depends on which countries you enabled when you publish. Apps will fall back on the so-called Neutral Language which you can set up.

It can be challenging to localize an app. The UI in VS2010 will only show one language at a time, I would prefer to see a grid so I can better spot any mistakes plus it's easier when you want to add a single term, as you now have to open each resx independently.

That said, feel free to try out my app Weerplaza.nl, it's currently primarily targeted for usage in The Netherlands and shows rain clouds and a 2 hour estimate of rainfall in a live tile. So anyone living in or just visiting The Netherlands should check it out, in the 1.1 update which finally after half a month got through the Marketplace update you can turn off the Radar Live Tile so you could also use it outside the Netherlands and pin your favorite places, although the place name could be in Dutch

Posting from my Dell XPS15 running Windows 8 Pro, VS2012 Ultimate and Office 2013, waiting for the WP7/8 SDK!

Edit: finally after 3 weeks I got thrown off first place in The Netherlands by Whatsapp Actually it's a shame, since Whatsapp has done an awful hack with the background audio!

Coffeehouse - I'm all in

I have no idea if I'm the Netherlands or Japan for the store. But there's very few apps in there (I get 249 when I search for a blank term).

There are some Dutch apps, but also apparently some Chinese. The only really useful apps are MS's (like OneNote MX) and Kindle.

By the way, if you haven't tried Pinball FX2 (one of MS's games for Windows 8), you should. It's pretty fun, and the one free table (Mars) seems reminiscent of the old space cadet table from Windows 98 with its missions and stuff. The ball physics are a bit wonky though, pretty standard for computer pinball.

I just talked with Long. It seems MS added a bunch of new markets, and they're not automatically enabled for existing apps. It seems the only way he can add the new markets to MetroTwit is to publish an update.

That explains the lack of apps in the store for some I suppose. Hopefully it'll get better with time.

(What does that make the Mazda MX-5?)

The radial menu reminds me of the four-paned context menu that 3DSMax has (or used to have, the last time I used it was quite a few versions ago). Max used it because they had an insane amount of stuff tucked in the context menu, though.

OneNote MX is very impressive, but I have to ask why I'd use it on a desktop when I spend most of my time in the desktop mode, also have the desktop OneNote, and when I use that I can actually see the stuff I'm taking notes about (overlapping windows FTW). I'm sure MX is great on a tablet, but I see no use case for it on a desktop PC.
