@magicalclick: The brightness is kept really low with the automatic adjustment settings. If you set it to manual and select "high" or even "medium", the whites look much brighter. Blacks stay black, obviously, since it's OLED.

OLED displays typically look oversaturated, but I tend to like it like that since I'm so used to it now.

On a larger device where colour accuracy is important, having over saturated colours isn't good but I can see it's helpful on a mobile device you will be using outside.
