Coffeehouse - Is AMOLED supposed to be grayish?

I was testing out Lumia900 at store, and the screen is grayish compare to my HTC Surround's LCD. The AMOLED is having higher contrast and "feels" vibrant. But, the white looks grayish on AMOLED. Also when playing "flowers", AMOLED feels overly saturated. Does anyone feel the same?
