I bought a Kinect setup about two years ago, used it for about a fortnight, then went back to the Wii. The main problem was it needed far too much room to use. We have a larger than average living room, and it just didn't work for us. The other problem was that without any resistance, there is a tendency to overextend.

But that's just me. Microsoft's problem is bigger than just the Kinnect. The XBox is for serious gamers, which are vastly outnumbered by casual gamers. While your serious gamer will sit down and play for a few hours, your casual gamer will just pick up his iPad for twenty minutes.

I think everyone who wanted a Kinect got one at Christmas.

I'd love to try one out, but I'm not much of a gamer, and spending $300 for an Xbox 4GB w/ Kinect is just way too much money for a seven year-old system. Plus, with the rumors of the next Xbox coming out next year with an updated Kinect...it just seems like a waste of money to get one today.

I think the whole Kinect idea loses its appeal without good software. But we won't have good software until it gets a major presence in the market. Chicken and egg.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Star Wars Kinect still seems to be largely a game of minigames (including a dance one..... seriously), which pretty much describes most Kinect games I've encountered.

There is no "Halo" for Kinect, ie. a "killer game" that really defines the platform. (Despite the fact that a Halo game came out with Kinect support. The Kinect support is more of a enhancement than part of the actual gaming experience.)

I'd like to see a real, supar ceral Kinect game one day, similar to the Fable demo that was showed in E3 but never delivered.
