Don't shoot messenger for revealing uncomfortable truths

While this is disappointing, it is hardly surprising. Refusal of bail when the defendant is likely to abscond is perfectly normal. We'll just have to see how this plays out, but I suspect the UK will just hand him over to the Swedish; given that we signed up to the European Arrest Warrants I don't imagine there's much that can be done. If there is anything to be done, hopefully his lawyers will do their best.
What's especially disappointing is the Swiss bank that has frozen his accounts: including the defence fund he would have wanted to fight this sort of action. Thankfully there seem to be plenty of people willing to fund his court fees. It all smacks of dirty tricks really.
The first video is less than exciting, Raymond. Hardly worth posting a video of a security van leaving in a scrum of press photographers
Herbie
I don't know why the Daily Mail is running a piece that seems to defend him (you'd think they'd be opposed to his type), but because it's the DM I don't know if I can trust the article or not.
It's beyond doubt the case is politically motivated, but I don't believe the USA is behind the allegations (that is, I'm refering to interpersonal politics on the part of the two women), maybe it's just a case of attention-seeking gone too far?
That said, I'm confident Julian will be free...eventually; he very well might be guilty of the allegations, but they aren't exactly serious crimes, at worst he got her pregnant and he'll have to pay child support.
When you are preparing a blog post and radio show you gather what articles and video clips that are out there.
Since this was a breaking news story, I went with what was out there and most of it was writen with very few video clips.
I suspect that in the next six hours more and better video will be available.
Go to the Drudge report for the very lastest.
Interesting that there is an ad running now at the drudge report for a Tom Clancy book entitled:
Dead or Alive.
Do you believe in conincidencies.
I do not.
@raymond: why are you using this forum to save notes for your blog post and radio show?
@Bas: Do you have anything against the Black Eyed Peas?
Unsafe Consensual Sex in Sweden? LOL isn't called making baby?
Well, gotta respect the local law. So, don't screw a girl/guy without condom.
There are so many local laws that police don't really enfore like crazy, except for him LOLz.
Don't think he's going to get any sympathy.
Since we're on Microsoft's forum. I just want to know: Could Azure handle hosting Wikileaks?
@ZippyV:
I do. The latest single was absolute garbage.
@Bas:why are you using this forum to save notes for your blog post and radio show?
I am not.
Just giving a heads up.

Yes, but, MS will bill the user a lot of money for the traffic.
Send Microsoft's invoice for hosting WikiLeaks to George Soros!
They should put them on docs.com, I'm sure it'll scale.
@raymond: no, you just said you were. Why?
@Bas:
Current events have always been appropriate topics of discussion in the Coffeehouse.
In case you have not noticed, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks is a topic of discussion on most talk radio and television news network shows, the print media and blogs.
I gave a headsup post on a breaking news story in case you missed it, which is just a tiny portion of the information that is out there and on my own blog.
Some interesting updates:
Obama, Holder, & Clinton--Bullies?
You betcha.
I agree with Beck, Napolitano and Paul as do most libertarians or classical liberals.
The big government interventionists of both the Republican and Democratic parties are going nuts over the exposure of their lies and crimes.
@Bass: I agree, I would never an album from them myself but it's good background music when reading forums.
