No... We are a group of language enthusiasts and simply want to get PL folks from across the industry and language domains in a room for a few days to geek out, exchange ideas, share knowledge, learn. As the computing landscape changes, so too do the tools used to build it and build on it.
Further, I don't think hatred is the right term (I didn't use it, anyway). More like ambivalence, which is fine, but we can do better at engaging these events with meaty and relevant content. We will, too. Lang.NEXT is by design open minded, cross-platform, cross-type system, cross-vendor and deeply focused on programming language design and implementation. It's not a popularity contest for programming languages...
