do not be to sure that craigslist is junk....    our company has found better candidates there than from some of the job sites.

someone we interviewed from our craigslist add thought we were a scam or something and he is now very happy with his fulltime role in our company.

you never know .... till you check it out.

I've only known one person in real life who had any kind of significant score on stack overflow. He was a worthless developer because he spent all day f*cking around on SO.

I find it's impossible to get a decent score on StackOverflow anyway, because every single question will get answered by Jon Skeet. Every. Single. One.

Programmers need an invite to create their profile but the profile is made for programmers: they can connect it to the SO site, select their best answers, link to open source projects they participate in, link to blog posts/articles they've written and list books they have read/written.
