I can't even tell the difference between it and the Lumia 900. Plus with the (practically) required case on the iPhone 5, it is often just as heavy. The Lumia 920 will be the 1st phone I'm not going to even bother putting in a case or put a screen protector on. I feel its build quality is good enough to not require it.

Anyway, great phone. It feels very slick compared to the Lumia 900.

Can't hold the phone for any length of time? Is he an invalid? The 920 weighs less than your typical eReader, and no one complains you can't hold those for hours on end one handed. In fact, some phones are too light, making far more likely you'll drop the device. I get having a preference/bias for some weight, but anyone that claims you can't hold any of these devices for any length of time needs to be laughed at publicly.

What do you mean by "it feels slick"? That word has multiple meanings, some of which wouldn't actually be considered complimentary.

I found it a little hard to choose between the 920 and the 8X, which I think is a really good problem to have. Two phones of this quality in the WP ecosystem is really a rather exciting change. I chose the 920 (shipping, so I don't have much practical experience yet) for a few reasons. I'd say the camera was one, but the reviews seem to indicate the 8X does nearly as well, and in some cases actually does better, making that a difficult reason to choose it. I chose the 920 because of the Nokia apps and the larger storage capacity (though I'm still bummed they didn't include an SD slot). Really, the apps are a big deal. Especially Nokia drive.

I'm not putting a screen protector on this time, so maybe that is part of what I'm experiencing as the screen is much smoother without a screen protector.

the claim is valid when he gets a boring color model and inclined to install a bulky heavy case over a 920 instead of getting a Cyan model.

It is possible he installed a 1KG gold case, you never know.

I like the yellow model ... good choice.  It stands out nicely, easy to find.

The audio on the Lumia 920 is pretty good. However there are some minor issues with it. Here are some points:

• Sound is very clear, better than Lumia 900.
• Equalizer sounds fine. However it is a bit fiddly to adjust the levels of each band. As soon as you lift your finger, they seem to jump a little bit up/down from where you want them. I did turn off the sensitive screen but it didn't help. It's not a big issue but a little annoying.
• There seems to be some sort of "widening" done on the audio, which is a bit excessive in my book. This is a very common technique to expand the stereo image (in fact many years ago I wrote an audio plugin for SAWStudio that did just that, it's a simple math formula to expand the audio image). I wish there was a way to turn it off.
• Not loud enough, but most phones seem to suffer from this. Different headphones could help here, especially if they are wireless where they have their own amplifier. Also, the trick where you increase the level of all bands in the equalizer to increase overall level doesn't work here because the overall level is reduced as you increase band levels, effectively having no effect on the final output level.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds great and I don't think you will be disappointed. Those are all minor issues really. Most people would be more than fine with the sound.
