Still looking good ....

Not so keen on this one:
-
Really?
I thought the first one was dire. The second was much better.

If we differ in opinion on this then that is probably a good thing for MS (Better appeal to some with each add than none with one - if that makes sense)

Makes perfect sense.

Also I think they should have avoided young Steve Jobs lookalikes - or is that just me?

I think they were trying to go for the High School Musical dude's look.

Might be just you ...

No, I really like that ad. One of their best since 'seriously' ones for WP7.

People who have been trying to justify this as a "features" ad have claimed that it demonstrates the removable keyboard cover and the multiple colors the cover comes in. But, if you think about it...would you really throw your consumer electronics around like that. Surely you'd risk breaking it, so maybe they're also demonstrating the resilience of the product (VaporMG/Gorilla glass).
Though, I still feel this is nothing more than an attention-grabbing ad, and a pretty decent one at that.

At this stage, get folks' attention is all they have to do. Get folk interested and into the shop to take a look for themselves. Throwing specs at people in adverts has never worked and never will.

What's crazy is how much these ads concentrate on an OPTIONAL feature. Let's also not forget about the creepy touch cover guy at the product presentation in June. It's as if Apple would highlight the Apple Wireless Keyboard in every iPad ad.
Was it some genius at accounting who decided to cripple the 499$ Surface at the last moment?

Apple spent almost 4 minutes talking about earbuds in their presentation.
-
@cbae: And in the UK, at least, we get adverts just about the ear buds (implying that all earbuds were round until Apple came along).

What's crazy is that you're going to make this same point over and over again in many different threads for the next couple of weeks.

Finally, I noticed something cool (or weird to be precise) after looking at the new surface ads so many times. You can attach 4 keyboards at a time
.See 0:24, when the guy on the floor taking blue keyboard and throwing those 4 keyboards away.
Anyway, what I like from the new ads is the click sound
. It also implies how easy to attach your keyboard even by running and jumping around. Everyone can use surface, from students to elders. -
This ads much much better than the other two.
-
@watermelon:Yes, I think I prefer that one though I did find it a little 'AppleEsq'
-
@watermelon: That's quite informative. It's obviously not a TV add for you can get away with ads like this online.
I guess once the OS is out they can make videos that explain more about the software and the interface.
