Nice and simple and just a little bit retro.

@Ian2: +1 I really like it!

I always thought the old logo was ugly. I don't really like this either but at least the colors are kind of cute, looking forward to seeing it on buildings and stuff.
-
Colorful, I like it. I'm actually amazed that the old logo has been around since the eighties. It looks so modern for something designed in the eighties.

Long overdue. Well done Microsoft. Though for some it may appear to echo what product team is ruling the roost...

I like it provided Microsoft can now stop rebranding/naming/loging everything every five minutes. I do like the way it brings the core brands (Microsoft, Windows, Office, Xbox) under one identity.

But will they use the new "Microsoft" logotype on the products that have "Microsoft" as part of the name?

Hey I just thought! If its 25 years since the last design does that make the new design B.A.D?
(Queue the music ..).

Has it really been 25 years? I need a vacation.

Well I suppose it explains why Windows has that 3D window thing, as they'd clearly picked the more obvious four coloured squares look for the main Microsoft logo.

Pr0n filters are always getting in the way of a little fun here...

Is it just me that can post an image?

@contextfree`: agreed on looking forward to seeing it on buildings... in general I think all the new branding makes for good posters / ads / Microsoft store branding

-
Also... happy to see that the Project Detroit car was very forward looking in it's logo choice on the grill
