My childhood record player

I was driving home tonight, turned on the radio and had Bob Seger brought back memories from my childhood. I had a Fisher Price record player with a bunch of crapy records, and a few good ones. I really liked Bob Segar and totally wore that record out.

Anyone else here have a record player as a kid, and what do you remember playing on it?

Fischer Price as well - 'Hello Goodbye' (Beatles) 'Peek a Boo' (New Vaudville Band) were seldom away from it for long.  Think it might have been 1967 which is a little scary ...

When my friend's parents bought a new stereo system in the early 80's I managed to blag their old one (which still worked perfectly well).  I remember playing a lot of Queen on it and not much else for several years. I'm somewhat more musically ecclectic now.

Speaking of ecclecticism, I had one record that had both of these gems on it. Dutchies will know of what I speak.

I had some Fischer-Price cassette player / recorder toy (it was red, with a yellow tape deck door). It came with some cassette tape where one side was recordable and the other half had some babyish songs on it (not legitimate popular music, just some contrived tunes written by some FP employee probably), I wonder if anyone's made a copy and put it on youtube...

@JoshRoss: My Fisher Price record player saw a lot of a Disney record that had "Macho Duck" (cover of Macho Man disco song) sung by Donald Duck.

I do still have a record player. It gets regular use with my small collection of LPs.

I am still reliving my childhood, though I loved and still love the Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band album Stranger in town. They don't make 'em like that no more.

was part of the TV (underneath), played a lot of 78's the one I liked the most was the Flying Dutchman.. until I could afford to buy any records of my own.
