I'm really loving this thing. I'm going to have to dig around and see if it uses EFI intead of BIOS. The boot consists of a flicker of the screen, a couple seconds of black and the Windows startup screen. Overally it's pretty snappy. I'm a happy camper.

It could be a traditional BIOS POST but with the memory test and text-mode display disabled and instead with a black bitmap display.

I've read that EFI is not necessarily much faster than a traditional BIOS boot.

Civilization V....or Civ III if you have it...99.9% of the game can be played with the flick of the pen. And you have the screen keyboard if you need that...

Yeah, I used to enjoy playing the occasional game of RTS on my tablet PC (just make sure you have a decent GPU in there, and the hardware supports the concept of a 'right-click drag' action).
