Nokia Lumia 800 - Did they forget to include a battery?

Got a nokia lumia 800 and i love it ... BUT ... Battery only last a few hours ... There is no way a full charge can last a full working day. You can speak for like one hour and surf for another hour ... And then the battery is dead.

We are 5 people at work that has a nokia lumia ... All are reporting similiar battery life ...

In a few days Nokia and Microsoft will launch a massive ad campain promoting this specific phone (in Denmark) ... I am afraid of that the press will recommend people NOT to buy this phone due to this issues ... and the people that do buy it will tell their friends that WP7 is a crappy phone that runs dry after a few hours of usage.

MS/Nokia risk ruin everything even before the party has started.

What a shame, because WP7 is so great and the Nokia Apps (Maps) makes this phone so much better that my old Samsung Omnia 7

@fabian: I thought they issued a firmware fix for this already.  I also thought it was a sporadic problem and didn't effect the majority of the phones.  I wonder if Denmark got a big batch of bad phones.  Hopefully the 900 doesn't suffer from the same problem because I plan to pick one up as soon as they are available in the US.

It seem like the firmware update doesn't work

Can see that my firmware version is lower than the firmware hotfix.  firmware hunt begin.

I have f/w revision: 1600.2479.7740.11451, which apparently isn't the newest firmware which is being pushed out starting today.

I haven't had mine long enough to tell if it has a battery problem, but I checked the diagnostic app after charging it, My battery charge topped out at 1300 mAh when the battery capacity is 1500 mAh.

Where did you hear that they start to push the update today?

Just tried to disable everything that comsumes lots of power like data, 3G, location. Battery status reports 100% charged. Time remaining: 12 hours.

@Fabian: Businesses like Nokia would think consumers have the right of speech. Especially when it comes to their products, and if there are issues. I wonder how they stay in business if the said phone's battery lacks "umph" to last a full business day. I hope they get in contact with all of their customers, like you and your co-workers. ASAP.

I'm assuming people are testing the battery by using the hidden diagnostic app? I just thought I'd post this video showing how to get to it just in case some people didn't know about it.

I just tested out Nokia Drive today, and it worked great. This is huge selling point for the device. If it didn't need a data connection to get GPS coordinates of your destination, it would be a completely offline navigation system. 

@cbae: i totally agree. I am currently in Bangkok and without nokia drive i would have been lost so many times. Didnt get the update before i left. Time to see if the international update mechanism is working ...
