Oops, something didn't work.
Suppose I have Windows 8 and make use of both interfaces.
Suppose I have a VOIP app running in metro, while I am working in the desktop, and someone calls me. How will I be notified?

If you are in the desktop then your Metro app will not be running.

@JoshRoss: Or if it's snapped to the side.
I get notifications on the desktop when an update finishes in the Store, so it can be done.
