Has anyone noticed Office 2010 text bodies randomly skew to the left and maybe up. I've seen it in Word, Outlook emails, Outlook appointments, etc. It is always the main body of content that is whacked. Minimizing the windows and bringing it back up causes it to redraw back to normal.

It doesn't seem to happen when the window is active. Usually I'm off doing something else and look over and see it has gone whacky.

@davewill: In Vista I've experienced something like that with Outlook when I had the Outlook gadgets running on the desktop. The content and the chrome got all wonky and you could do nothing but kill the app and restart it. I reported it to Microsoft via the forums and they said it was a known problem with the APIs that the gadgets were using. Like your experience it would only happen when the window was inactive.

Just this week my debugging broke for web stuff in VS (at least with Cassini). If I manually attached the debugger to the process when the breakpoint was hit VS would go wonky just like my past experience with Outlook. I'm sure it's totally unrelated but an interesting similar behavior none the less.

Video driver updates fixed neither of these problems unfortunately.

It only happens in sql management studio 2008. In addition to the screen getting out of sync, the undo buffer suffers corruption. If I ctrl+a, ctrl+c, I can get my working script off that pid, and onto another instance of the app. Not a big deal, it's just difficult to reproduce, and therefor difficult file a bug report.

-Josh

@JoshRoss: SQL Management Studio also exhibited the behavior now that you mention it. The last few times that I've seen it and wanted to capture a screenshot I couldn't because of the need to protect the content.

Most of the time it appears that the text is being drawn as if the text area was skewed up and to the left a few hundred pixels; yet the text boundaries within which it would normally be drawn are normal and as they were. The text can be interacted with as if nothing is wrong ... except for the fact that the left and top few hundred pixels worth are not visible.

@blowdart: Not sure on the video drivers. Will have to check. Its a fairly new (in last 12 months) Dell laptop with the factory image.

@DeathByVisualStudio: I haven't seen anything that bad. A simple minimizing of the window and restore is enough to fix it.
