Last night our kids went to bed 15 minutes late because while I was out for a run my wife was playing Wordament on out Win8 machine and she lost track of time -- mainly because there was no on-screen clock to remind her.

I've found apps to show the date and time on the start screen, but there is no provision for something that is always visible (you would have to use up a large amount of screen real-estate to show a docked app just to see the time).

Of course, I have no idea where you would display the time in a way that doesn't interfere with the Store App design.

I may have to just resort to buying a cheap digital clock for the desk and chip away at the functionality of the PC ...

Stuff like a snapped clock app or some sort of egg timer would work, but you'd still have to actively set those.

I also have two clocks that I can glance at, or 3 if I have my BlackBerry PlayBook displaying the time.

Maybe you can set your phone to display the time. My HTC Surround has a kickstand that allows me to easily display the time.

You might have something there.  Have you approached anyone yet?

Surely there are some full screen clock apps you can download and stare at.

That goes back to my old feature demand. Let me have taskbar visible when running Metro App (include allowing Metro app switching).

And in all seriousness, it is already possible, StartDock already demonstrated how it was able to host Start Menu inside a Window Form. The resize argument is pointless because we can always make sure the Window From is not resizable (except switch to Metro Strip mode, in this case, you can also move the strip around.).

I was using two far more expensive Radeon cards, but the fan on one became very noisy and I "leant" the other one to my brother. Anyway, what I have works for what I do, which is Visual Studio mostly.

The only problem I found is the cards do not support more than one digital output on each card. I have found that VGA isn't so bad for 2 monitors when I have 2 with digital rendering.

My mother board is an ASUS P6T. I could even add one more graphics card, but I seem to have the sweet spot of 4 monitors and haven't yet found the need for even one more, but only 3 would suck.
