I used to use the other ones back when they were the standard on Windows, but when programs started making the transition to Ctrl+X/C/V I had to relearn them pretty quickly. A program I was using alot only supported Ctrl+X for cut and not Shift+Del. And it only had one level of undo. :/
The X/C/V combination is just so natural to me, and it works in other ways too: X looks like a pair of scissors for cutting, 'C' for copy, and 'V' rhymes with 'P' for paste. It's also an easy keystroke with my left-hand.
Whereas the Ctrl+Ins/Shift+Ins combinations require more finger-acrobatics and movement, but it depends on what kind of keyboard you're using. I imagine on a laptop keyboard it might be easier since the keys are closer.
I use CTRL+C and CTRL+V exclusively
What do they do?
For the longest time, I used Ctrl+Insert/Shift+Insert exclusiely because I was so used to that in QuickBasic 4.5. It probably took me about ten years to gradually switch to Ctrl+C Ctrl+V exclusively.
Had been using them interchangeably for ages, until I got a nasty notebook keyboard, with Ins and Del in odd places and two sizes too small.
It's strictly CTRL+C/V/X since then (and a lots of CTRL+Z)
@PerfectPhase: - I use CTRL+C and CTRL+V exclusively
Never even knew CTRL + INSERT did something. Must be the young generation or something.

Shift+Ins is equivalent to Ctrl+V, aka Paste
Ctrl+Ins is equivalent to Ctrl+C, aka Copy.
Shift+Del is equivalent to Ctrl+X, aka Cut.
I'm glad you have me three choices, because I didn't know what the ctrl / shift + ins did.
I use CTRL+C and CTRL+V exclusively.
It would be funny if you asked who copy and pastes via the edit menu!

Wow, that takes me back. I started on QB on a Win98 computer. I was already used to CTRL+C/X/V and every time I used QB I had to remember to use the mouse instead of CTRL+C/X/V.
On a more positive note, I first learned about F5 and F9 there.
I use both combinations, depending on the app.
My default tendency is to Ctrl+Ins/Shift+Ins (a habit) but many apps don't support it.
Adobe apps tend to ignore Ctrl+Ins/Shift+Ins ...much to my constant frustration.
- I use both combinations interchangeably.
I'm more comfortable with Ctrl/Shift-Insert, but depending on keyboard layout (such as when using notebook), I might just use Ctrl-X/C
I use both. Normally I use X/C/V exclusively, but sometimes, if I happen to have to cut something and my fingers are already in the right place, the old shift-delete reflex still kicks in. Old habits die hard.
X/C/V Exclusively -- only recently found out about the ctrl-insert/shift-insert keys, but it's too late now.
Herbie
X/C/V Exclusively, i used ctrl-insert/shift-insert with turbo c many years ago.
X/C/V exclusively. Didn't know about the others, and frankly they are located on the half of the keyboard I never use.
X/C/V exclusively.
