Recruitment - where to advertise in the UK

I'm looking to recruit a Senior Developer in the UK.  The company I work for has a limited number of approved recruitment agencies and we are struggling to find someone that matches our requirements.  I was wondering where most people on Channel 9 in the UK look for new career opportunities

@cpod: Thats just par for the course. I think you can expect to interview up to 50 people before you get the right candidate. I also think agencies are the SCUM of the earth, with the money they charge.

This sounds braggadocio, but I don't look for jobs, they look for me. It is hard to get good developers at this moment in time.

I think you just need the usual jobsite.co.uk, cwjobs.co.uk and jobserve.co.uk.

I've got 7 years' experience with C# now (whoa... that's a scary thought, time flies) and I've been "Lead" on a number of fairly large-scale systems now (not bad for a recent graduate, heh). I like to think my C++ is good (and getting better) too.

I'm currently hunting around for jobs (I'm getting a bit burned-out from all the short-term contract gigs I've done) - might your company be interested in someone like me?

What exactly are you requirements, if you don't mind me asking?

Historicaly I have always gone through recruitment agencies.  I had a long stream of consistenly good contract work through Sanderson Recruitment based out of Bristol.

Hmmm, not too far away by train. I'm about 30 to 45 minutes away depending on whatever rail strikes are planned for any given date. Oh, cynical me.

I don't know Knutsford that well, only work here.  I live an hour away by car.  I can find the Legh Arms and Booths, that's about it...

@W3bbo a pint at the moment is difficult as I am car sharing with someone, they've had an opperation on their arm and can't drive so I'm their shofer at the moment. Drop me an e-mail and we can arrange a phone call if you are interested

@Ian2: Used to, I take it you've moved somewhere else.  I've walked around the area by work and there are some really nice houses.  One by work was up for £35 million not so long ago, but I think this is an exception rather than a rule, I think they are generally only a couple of million
