As someone who, until very recently, has avoided the need to use these things... how the hell do people live with them ? Am I missing something really basic?

It seems that no matter what I try, I always end up needing about 3 goes to type even the simplest things like URLs. And as for typing anything longer - it would be quicker to catch the bus home and use my desktop.

Just thought I'd share this, being the caring and sharing person I am.

It is fine for me, except WP8 auto correction is not as good as WP7.5, so, I have to correct myself more often with very basic miss spelling. Also I tends to hit "," more often on WP8 instead of space bar, compare to WP7.5, don't know why though, but, it is a bit annoying because it doesn't count as typo.

Yep! Swype for me! A quality blue tooth keyboard is also helpful for lengthy sessions.

I used my Android phone and external keyboard exclusively on a recent business trip. Worked out OK for most everything I needed but a larger screen would have been MUCH better. I can't wait for ClamCase for Android to FINALLY come out. Hurry up already Smiley

Using a Noka 920, and this is my first smartphone. I didn't even 'text' with previous cell-phones.

After 40+ years of using a full-size KB (yes I am that old) I find this thing impossible to use, and am amazed that people happily accept it as a workable solution.

One of the things that I do find baffling is that in landscape mode, WP does not use the full width of the screen for the KB display, and so the keys are not as big as they potentially could be.

I have a lot of whines and complaints about WP, but the keyboard interface actually isn't one of them (in comparison to my iPod Touch which I find harder to type on, I make far more mistakes on it).  My old Android phone was alright also for screen typing, but it also had a physical keyboard that I used more often.

I'm 100% with you though, I would much rather be using a keyboard than a touch screen anyday.
