So... where is the infamous NoDo?

After the announcement at CES of the January WP7 update, later referred to as NoDo, we have heard nothing.

Last week, we got the new *cough* January Dev tools update, and today through Patch Tuesday a Zune update, so I guess it cant be far off now.

Am the only one that thought we would receive the January update in January, or did I just assume that from the name?

It would be nice to hear something from the team involved, anything, to let us know whats happening - you dont have to look far across the web to know its starting to become a joke (maybe not to the extent P Thurrot makes out, but all the same) ..

Anyone else think things are a little odd?

I assumed the 'phantom data' issue delayed things as it was only figured out after Christams, so I'm not worried.

My understanding of the yahoo issue was that both the iPhone and wp7 phones are affected, as yahoo is the side with the issue. Either way, they announced this update back on the 10th of October, would have thought we would have had it in jan, yahoo fix could have come this month. But you know, it's not the missing update that's disappointing me, it's the missing dialog.

it's obviously been finished for a while, and is going through the carrier testing process.

Obviously? Where did you hear that from?

Presumably the dev tools needed to get out before the final release, since some apps may need recompiling to avoid issues with cut and paste. It's clearly done, so hopefully it's not long to wait now.

I thought it is out today, hope it come out soon and see what's the new updates. Market Places crashed for me occasionally, so I hope they fixed that. The phone is fine, just I no longer able to use Market Place without restart.

The release notes mention that some applications may accidentally trigger a page swap event when selecting (since both actions are basically dragging your fingers) and that applications which do will be fixed if they recompile against the newer tools. So it's definitely a possible reason.

With you on hoping Marketplace gets a fix though, it's the single most irritating thing about the phone.

My biggest gripe with the phone (htc Mozart) is that if I don't press snooze in time, the sound stack fails and phone then locks up when I try to unlock it. Not cool, happens weekly and makes me miss my car park at work (and be late, but car park more important lol)

@Bas: It's a shame it's a bit later than expected, but I'd rather it was late and worked instead of coming out earlier with problems. I can live with the minor niggles for a while longer.

@AndyC:if it was a substantial update I'd agree, but the only major feature this brings is copy/paste. If it takes that long to bring out an update like that, then how long until we get Silverligt, Flash, IE9, direct access to the camera, a compass API and other glaring omissions? Years?

Its to bad, they claimed when WP7 came out that they would reduce OEM and Carrier testing especially for minor updates would reduce time to users. It appears that MS could get up and stage at MWC next week and say copy paste is coming soon just like they did in January at CES.
