"Wow, that display surely is fine (but personally I'm holding out for the iPad 4 "dual retina" display)".

Honestly, I am left a little nonplussed after a weekend of use with the new iPad 3. 

Can anyone tell me what else is better (other than the display resolution) as compared with the iPad 2? 

Damn, perhaps I am missing something?  Or is it just me?

Well, you should get better performance from the A5X chip due to the beefed up graphics onboard. They've doubled the RAM to a gig. They've added a cut-down version of Siri. And then there's the screen which is obviously too good to be be appreciated by the likes of me (I really don't get it). Personally, I think there's an element of Reality Distortion going on here, but I'll keep an open mind.

On it's own, it's a basic mid-term upgrade. Whether it is worth it or not depends on what the developers do with the extra graphics power and the screen.  Looking at the keynote and the responses online, this upgrade seems to be mostly about getting the games developers onboard.

We also have Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G/LTE.

OK, so a reasonable number of upgrades but I guess nothing particularly inspiring (for me anyway).

I don't understand this: it looks that they are moving away from product numbers and therefore versions (they are also not changing the look of the device). Doesn't this make your old product less old which would make buing a new one less compelling?

Personally I like the idea, but marketing wise, this sounds like suicide.

Apple has decided that thicker than heavier is now better, so that's what you get now.

Weight felt about the same to me. Wonder how much heavier it is.

Apparently, 0,07lbs heavier and 0.6mm thicker.

Don't think there's any real need to buff up.
