What's contradictory about the two statements?  "I'd" is short for "I would." At 21:17, the reviewer's statement indicates that he didn't have to spend days, as planned, before running into the problems referred to.

"I'd planned to fly into orbit, stay a few days, conduct an experiment, then land."

"73 seconds in, my ship exploded."

Nothing to reconcile.
