In your and my country government controls 50% of ALL money, 50%!
And none in government are poor workingclass people. They are all middle to upperclass citizens. Looking out for their personal interests and their career afther being a politician/civil servant.
Our previous minister of finance is now a big hotshot at an accounting firm.
Our previous minister of transport is now a big hotshot at KLM/Airfrance.
In the USA you have politicians pushing for investments in areas they have interests in.
They are people too, you know. Government is not made up of saints, they are made up of the same people you work with every day.
Let me put it to you this way;
Would you trust me to spend a large sum of your earned money on Sven? I think the answer is no. Then why do you trust a violant institution, like your government, with an appaling track record, over me to spend your money?
