well I do not know what he has to work on but I find that I have to keep VS 2008 + vs 2010 to support different projects.
for example VS 2010 will not open / edit any win forms code that uses the SQL RS control for SQL 2005. also VS 2010 will not work with any of the VS 2008 Smart Device projects.
I do not know if VS 2012 has dropped support for stuff in VS 2010 but there is the .Net 4.5 issue -
so I have a VM with VS 2010 to test with .Net 4.0 as VS 2012 hides some .Net 4 bugs from you.
that's 3 installs ..... plus having VM's to keep .net 4 and 4.5 installs working.
