Wondering what team "runs the show" for desktop gadgets...some group in the WinDev team?

I'm pretty sure they closed up shop. I don't believe you can post any more gadgets in the gallery.

Yeah, but Windows 8 can have gadgets on it's desktop, so someone has to be running the show on the back-side of things. Even if the gadget API hasn't/won't change.

I used to dig gadgets, but it seems that at least twice a day they completely die and need to restart. I'd rather just have an app that monitored the various system stuff in a small window (like resource monitor without the bulk).

It's the shell team who also write Windows explorer, and who are also responsible for the Metro interface.
