I'm getting kind of tired of hearing 'beats audio' touted as some kind of thing that means something.  It's a glorified eq setting and if you like that setting, then great.  If you don't, then you are stuck.

I suspect it's more of a way to work around perceived issues with lower bit rates that some folks find problematic. 

Either way, it's electronic snake oil.
