So when are we going to see tweets from Microsoft suggesting we go to Pirate Bay to get our movies? After all that solves the DVD problem too.

My point is that without built-in DVD support Windows no longer provides guaranteed, consistent DVD support. It's back to the wild-wild-west like pre-Vista days for DVD support. No Compromise for sure.

As for cost will Microsoft offer me a version of W8 with the touch support ripped out so on my desktop PC I don't have to pay for the R&D and coding time that went into that part of Windows? W8 is very modular after all...
