My local BestBuy, Fry's, and other electronic stores don't sell Surface.

I had to get mine from a Microsoft Store (Times Square). You could also order one from the online MS Store.

aw MS Store is like 50 miles away. I guess I will visit Irvine next year.
-
I bought mine online. The only brick and mortar store that sells them is Microsoft and the closest one is over 300 miles from here.
-
I got the Asus because there was nowhere nearby to try out a Surface.

I played with the Surface when I was in NYC, there was this huge media themed advertisement construction in Rockefeller Center. I did notice that there was a lot of salespeople/evangelists/preachers/whatever-they-are from Microsoft around with an equal amount of Surface tablets.. but they seemed kind of lonely with nobody to talk to. Maybe I came at a bad time?

No store in the UK (London). So I'm not buying one. kind of stupid for Microsoft not to open a store here. My eye is on the Surface Pro coming out in March. I really wish they allowed shops in the UK to sell the surface or at least have a DEMO unit if liked can buy on line ?

@magicalclick: It's MS store only (with exceptions overseas). The full rollout to other retailers will happen next year.

Oh I see. I guess I will just wait for it. Thanks.

I ordered mine from online MS store. Free shipping.
Since this is a MS product it is sold in MS stores (for now at least).
