I believe it will be available around about 2pm GMT
It seems that when Redmond sets a date they mean by the end of the day on that date in pacific time.
if now.date.day = 29 then not late.
Oh look, it's a little after 2pm GMT... http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=28975
More details & downloads can also be found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/apps/br229516.aspx
ahh, thanks
Is the link working fot you guys??
For me it "finnishes" the download after 3 or 4%.....
Thanks
It's a bit slow, but it's still going for me. It's up to about 20%.
I'm getting around 405KBS on both VS2012 and Windows Consumer (which is pretty good for me, I am out in the sticks)
Ok, it's working here now too.
Windows 8 64bit is 43% downloaded - 31 minutes remaining
VS11 is 21% downloaded - 22 minutes ramaining
Has anyone tried this on the Win8 Consumer build yet? I think I read somewhere that it doesn't work but not sure if that comment was legit?
@Ian2: Wait, VS11 doesn't work on Win8? Who made that decision?
Well I downloaded VS2011 Express and have it running on my Win8 machine. Which is all great, but I did notice that when it obtained a developer licence it will expire on 31/3/2012, which seems rather soon.
Is this some new quirk of Win 8 development, that we need to re-obtain a developer license once a month or has something gone awry somewhere?
@spivonious:I tried it and its fine.
