It would kind of make sense, if only the Zune interface hadn't been generally recieved as vastly better than that of the iPod. As it is it just looks like typical deluded Apple fanboyism.
-
@W3bbo: lol, Robot Chicken?
I like how no one knows who Zune Man is.
I think that Zune would have been much more successful if MS hadn't ditched PlaysForSure or gone DRM-free. And not offering the Zune in brown. Honestly, what design team approved that?
-
More importantly, when's the last time you heard anything about the Zune? Ads, software updates, etc.
The Zune software is the nicest out there, although not as functional as MediaMonkey...but the Zune software is still full of bloat. Large libraries are slow; the Seach in the interface is horrible, as I can't find any way to just search my library, it can take a minute to get any results back.
-
I find iTunes and the Zune software to both be cumbersome and annoying. The Zune interface is especially awful for classical music. At least Zune Pass is a great deal, though.
-
I thought ms already killed it? No ad at all. And they barely interested in a new Zune player. But, I have Zune on my win phone, which is good. Don't like Zune software because it organize everything without keeping a simplefolder view. I have those greatest hits that has all kind of artists and albums . I end up with tons of single song albums. Not fun at all.
-
@Harlequin: Select an artist or a song in the collection view and type something. See what happens. Unfortunately it's broken for albums and videos since release 3.2 (I think).
@contextfree`: What's the problem with classical music? I don't have any and find the experience to be like that with CDs.
@magicalclick: Tag your files properly. There are fields for artist (TPE1) and album artist/band (TPE2). Set artist to the artist of the track and band to "Various Artists" and they'll show up correctly in the software and on the device/phone. For properly tagging sampler discs you can also set the compilation tag (TCMP) to "1" even though that is not required.
-
@Dodo:
How do I do that when they are already arranged crazily in Zune? Is there any special way to set the tag based on folder? Or I have to rip my CDs all over again? Thank you.

Tehe, does not include me. But, I bought whole season 5 of Spongbob for my WinPh7 in 2011.
