@Ian2: I think I prefer the cheese. I like small laptop mice better than giant ones that take up your entire hand.
Well I've played with an Apple Magic Trackpad on a Windows8 desktop, which looks to be essentially the same thing as the Logitech though I don't think the drivers are quite yet set up to allow multitouch to work the way Windows8 would expect.
However I still think that what missing is a peripheral touch screen of some kind, large enough to display the full Metro interface for direct interaction, and not just a small pad.
This looks nice as well:
I accidentally brushed against the edge of my keyboard one day and thought of an idea: A beveled swipe strip along the left edge of the keyboard that activates the task list and/or charms bar in Metro.
Someone should get right on this.
