Well in case anyone has had this problem, not sure if this has been suggested or not, I used the desktop app on windows 8, Moved the location of the Music Files to where I had them stored, apply and ok'd, next step I right clicked on some of the files within the music folder and selected play with windows media player. configured media player, then it launched the windows 8 music app. after closing the app and opening again my music library was imported.
