And you all are focusing on the consumer side....I think where Microsoft will ultimately win is on the corporate side with Windows 8/tablets.  There are a whole host of corporate apps yet to be invented that take advantage of the tablet form factor.  Which tablet would a corporation rather have?  One tailored to downloading a whole universe of apps(ones they cannot control) and play iTunes and movies?  Or the one that can run all their existing x86 apps and the new ones that are built for a tablet form factor?  Hmmm....choose wisely.
