Does anyone know when the Win Phone 8 SDK will be available?

@Skriker V1.0: The only rumour I've heard is that it will be released on the 29th when the phone is officially announced.
A bit annoyed by this, but also intrigued as to why they're being so secretive.

Doesn't this mean that there will be NO apps available at launch?

@Skriker V1.0: You could apply for access to the SDK (and sign a Non-Disclosure). I was refused. Given that 7.5 apps will still work (apparently) I don't think they're as worried about App numbers as they are for Windows 8 Apps.

A lot of Windows Phone Developers (like myself) were refused access to the Windows Phone SDK.
They must have something pretty special in there .....?
I am hoping to get up to speed at BUILD which starts the day after the release.

Visual Studio 2012 is teasing me with the template option and then a link to a page that says its not available yet

...Or maybe the SDK was an afterthought and is so bad they aren't ready to release it. If they are following in Apple's footsteps that would make sense.

I hope one of the surprises is going to be full async support in Portable Class Library and being downwards compatible with WP7 development by releasing a new Async library...
-
@Ian2: I'd heard that the SDK was leaked and developers could glean nothing out of it that we didn't already know. Heard this on one of the Twit podcasts, and have done nothing to verify it, but if true, I think Microsof has blundered very badly here by not having an open RC.
@PeterF: We know there's much better Portable Library support all the way around coming. It's one of the things I'm most interested in. However, there's no information if any of it will be compatible with WP7. In particular I was told that contract support was coming, but despite direct inquiry I've not been told if this includes WP7 or is only there for WP8.
Edit: Just noticed I said "better Async Library support" when I meant Portable Library support.

Hello,
I am really looking forward to the Win Phone 8 SDK. I have done some development myself previously. I tried an SDK, called Ozeki SIP SDK and according to the following guide made a VoIP app for WP7. In case some of you decides on developing a VoIP app for WP7 it might you some good hints (http://www.voip-sip-sdk.com/p_511-windows-phone-platform-voip.html). I am also interested what changes will the Win Phone 8 SDK bring. -
I have recently updated my app on WP7 store (which is taking almost 2 weeks to approve grr).
I noticed that my app is compatible with phone 7,5 AND 8 so I assume that this will be available for 8 phones at launch.
However, it is frustrating not to have the skd before the phone is out.

If the SDK isn't ready for primetime, then why would anyone want to use it? My guess is that if Microsoft released the Phone SDK, it would divert attention away from Windows 8 development -- an area that few people are interested in, to begin with.
