Not on Win7 probably because of Modern UI. WP7 - it's getting phased out anyway. The Zune service is supposed to be available for those 2 devices, however.

Didn't they say they were going to release it for iOS and Android next year?

 

Though, I do think there needs to be a beautiful desktop app for managing music. The latest iTunes is great (from an aesthetic standpoint). The desktop is for sitting down and cracking away at the details -> music enthusiasts would want to be able to sift through their collection, edit metadata, etc.

The client isn't available. The "old" zune software connects to the service though and gives you all that streaming goodness.


And apparently iOS and Android support will come next year.

MS wants people to upgrade to Win8.

WP7 has like 2% marketshare, and most of those users (if not all) will upgrade to WP8 when the devices come out.

Agreed with iOS and Android, but I think that is coming next year.

I find it hard to get excited about music services, the space is totally crowded. I like Pandora, but the 100 station limit is irritating. I would try Spotify, but it only seems to work if I go through a German proxy. MOG Looks promising, and Last.FM seems to work just fine. What is the selling point for XBox music? Offline access?

It's so powerful. You could take so many things away from me and I'd still be happy, but music certainly isn't one of those.

Personally Sony imposed play limits on Spotify, it lost it's appeal. Pretty much just stick with youtube playlists while at the office and home.

Bing, OneNote (it looks like more of Office is coming too), Skydrive and now XBox Music. There's nothing from those platforms that needs to run on the XBox itself. The apps are just consuming the service.
