Btw, it is not about 3D, thus, no need for eye tracking. It is more about panoramic experience. And there is one part they didn't show you, but, I think it reconstruct the room in real time as the video claimed. Meaning, if your cat walks over, the image will adjust to your cat. Obviously it is overdone, but, since MS research already have such tech, they just reused it. and I loves the shockwave effect. Had to keep replay it to make sure they are not faking it.

Anyone even suggesting it's the same thing is either insane or deliberately trying to be a negative nancy.
And anyone suggesting Microsoft built a smartphone before the iPhone must be equally insane or deliberately trying to be a negative nancy.

So, mental problems then. Awesome.

The whole illumiRoom would just be a rear projector, and only games with built in functionality(e.g. ones that allow Kinect, 3D....special code)...would "talk" to the projector. A game with snowflakes would have elements it sends to the projector (e.g. a 2nd special HDMI output on an Xbox 720).
Not saying it's easy. It's just "extras" a game would have. -
Another video published, with more details

Or the DIY version (not quite as sophisticated, but cool none the less):

@felix9: Altoids! Of course! Why didn't I think of that!

The snow falling onto the cabinet and rolling off when the player accelerates is amazing. If they manage to put this in the new Xbox they've got a killer feature.

That is way cool. This is something I'd like to see make it to market sooner than later, especially if it extends real pieces of the game into the room (like you could see a car driving next to you out of your peripheral vision). I've also thought it would be cool to integrate the PixelSense table into the gaming experience, either integrated with the Xbox or by itself (something that could really bring it into the mainstream which would help bring the price down on it via economies of scale), but it doesn't seem like I'll ever see one outside of a Vegas casino.
That is the single coolest product that's next to impossible to buy. -
@felix9: thank you felix9, it is most helpful.

Heh, in fact, this video has not been officially 'published' yet, Google only found this link after I posted it here, and Bing still knows nothing about it.
so its 'exclusive' news.
