I got a great screenspace in IE9. but these plugins like my mcafee phising/web filter, pdf helper and/or other only occasionaly used and passive tools were put on a separate toolbar and there is no way to hide the toolbar. if i close the toolbar then these items gets deactivated.

Do you see any context menu options for showing and hiding the toolbars when you right click in that area?

I don't want to disable it. I just want to hide it. I don't want to see add-ons that works in background like anti-virus or phising filters, for instance.

Unless you don't trust yourself, I'm not sure an extra phishing filter is really necessary. The built in one should be fine. I'm not even sure what the PDF helper does. I have it turned off and haven't had any problems.

It fills in passwords automatically and I don't think I ever use the actual toolbar. It would be nice to be able to disable the toolbar without disabling the underlying add-on, like I can do with the LastPass button in Chrome.
